Whistler's Original Craft Brewery

The Whistler Brewing Co. was first established in 1989 on Alpha lake road in Whistler, BC. In 2001 it was bought out by a large company in Alberta and was moved to Calgary. This did not bode well for the brand and come 2003 the Whistler Beer brand was essentially dead. In 2005, it was resurrected by two pioneers of the BC Beer industry, it was brought back to BC and eventually came back to Whistler and re-opened its current location in Function Junction in 2009. Whistler Brewing offers 10-15 brews a year, generally lighter and fruiter seasonal beers in the summer and darker ones in the winter. Many of of their beers have won awards and one of the originals - the Black Tusk Ale is the most award-winning beer to this day. The brewery Taphouse offers brewery tours, pub-style food and 12 different beers & ciders on tap.
